Eleven new partner promotions for 2024

Mills & Reeve’s partnership continues to grow with 11 new promotions on 1 June 2024.

Mills & Reeve will boost the number of partners to 171 when 11 principal associates are promoted on 1 June 2024. Covering various key sectors, including healthcare, life sciences, insurance, government and private wealth, the new partners are based across the Birmingham, Cambridge, London, Manchester and Norwich offices.

The full list of partner promotions includes:

Birmingham

James Thompson will support the growth of the Birmingham insurance disputes team, with a particular focus on relationships with, and claims the firm deals with, on behalf of brokers and intermediaries and their insurers. 

Kate Watkins is a specialist employment lawyer, advising commercial clients on a wide range of varied employment and HR related issues. She will focus on growth in the Birmingham commercial employment team, as well as retail and life sciences work.

Paul Krivosic is a corporate lawyer advising both private and public companies on all aspects of corporate law. Paul will focus particularly on the continued growth of Mills & Reeve’s independent sector healthcare offering and the wider corporate team.

Adam Williams is an expert in the private client team. Adam will continue to develop and expand the philanthropy offering, as well as focusing on growing the Birmingham private client and charity practice.

Cambridge

Stephanie Caird is a life sciences lawyer, supporting a wide range of clients in the pharma and biotech, medical devices and diagnostics sectors. She will support the growth of the firm’s commercial life sciences practice, with a particular focus on med tech, clinical trials and regulatory work.

David Stead is a projects lawyer with over 20 years of experience advising parties to real estate transactions. He will specialise particularly in the student accommodation offering and look to continue to grow work in this area. 

Samuel Maw will support the firm’s growth in government sector and real estate disputes work. He’ll also focus on maximising opportunities from real estate investment clients in Cambridge and London.

London 

Shailee Howard is an expert in Mills & Reeve's procurement team, advising both the public and private sector on public procurement law. Shailee’s appointment enables the firm to leverage its strong public sector reputation to grow the non-contentious side of the firm’s procurement work.

Edward Sloan is a trusted venture capital advisor specialising in leading and negotiating investment rounds. He will continue to focus on growing the venture capital offering, which will also supplement the technology and life sciences sectors.

Manchester

Hannah Cheminais is a real estate lawyer acting for developers, investors, landowners and occupiers. Hannah will continue to develop the Mills & Reeve real estate offering in the North West for public and private regeneration, development and complex projects work.

Norwich

Frances Bailey is a specialist family lawyer advising clients from all around the UK, with particular experience in advising business owners. Her promotion bolsters Mills & Reeve’s Norwich family team. Frances will continue to specialise in and grow the firm’s offering in the wealth protection elements of family law.
