Our experience

• Following a fatal tower crane collapse and serious multiple personal injury claims, we advised a construction company and their insurers on insurance, liability and recovery issues. Our work involved securing an indemnity from the crane hire company.
  
  
• When a claimant sustained an injury during a manual handling task involving weights of around 80kg, we demonstrated our client’s effective training and risk assessment policies to achieve a successful defence
  
  
• We acted for a construction company on a live mesothelioma claim where it was alleged people were exposed to asbestos in the sixties and seventies. We deflected liability to a co-defendant.
  
  
• We acted for the UK insurers of the owner of a Turkish holiday home in relation to a fatality of a maintenance man at the property. With assistance from on-the-ground lawyers, we obtained a reasonable settlement in accordance with local law.
  
  
• We advised insurers on coverage under an EL policy after a scaffold accident where scaffold work was excluded from the policy. This allowed repudiation of cover, despite EL insurance being compulsory.
