Nuclear

Our lawyers provide pragmatic, strategic advice and solutions to facilitate your transactions and to resolve any disputes in the nuclear sector.

The transition in the energy sector to low carbon intensity energy sources has brought with it a renewed interest in nuclear energy.

We have experience in providing tailored and focused advice to organisations throughout the supply chain of the nuclear sector – from advising regulatory bodies to contractors on nuclear construction projects. The nuclear industry operates in a complex legislative and regulatory framework and, accordingly, faces its own unique challenges which our lawyers are equipped to advise on.

Our experience

We have experience of successfully advising entities operating in the nuclear industry and have acted on matters including:

  • Advising an advanced manufacturing business on its supply arrangements to supply critical components for development of a new nuclear power station including assessing risk levels and negotiating appropriate amendments to reapportion and manage such risks.

  • Advising a nuclear regulator on its standard forms of contract.

  • Advising on Hinckley Point C in relation to the new build nuclear power station and acting for one of the world’s leading energy infrastructure companies in the world, involved in the design and construction of an 880 megawatt power plant in the UK.

  • Advising on development consent orders for a new nuclear power generating project.
