Mike heads the real estate team in Manchester and manages the relationships with some of the firm's major clients. He has over 30 years' experience and has worked on many landmark development and investment deals for clients including developers, investors, institutions and occupiers. He is respected for both his technical skill and for project managing teams with cross-discipline expertise.

Supporting your ambitions

Mike has acted for a number of clients who have been successfully appointed preferred bidder in competitive tendering exercises, where legal input is being competitively evaluated. Because of those results, on one occasion, he was subsequently approached by the under-bidder and has successfully acted for them on a number of other proposals.

Mike's project management skills and his ability to respond quickly and effectively were demonstrated when he acted for an international retailer on the purchase of more than ninety branches, where the cross-office/cross border team completed the due diligence exercise in full, in only seven days.

What else should you know?

Mike began his career as a lecturer in law and for many years he was an examiner for the Law Society. He describes the law as a fascinating subject in its own right and, whilst building up his practice and expertise, he has continued to be a speaker and a panel member at seminars and debates in the property market.
