Mills & Reeve appointed to new national homes agency - Homes England
Formerly the Homes and Communities Agency, the expanded Homes England was relaunched in January 2018 to play a far bigger role in investing in supply and intervening in the market to help deliver 300,000 homes a year by the middle of the next decade.
Andrew Wood, real estate projects partner at Mills & Reeve, said: “We are delighted to have the opportunity to work with Homes England as it drives forward the changes set out in the government’s housing white paper to fix the housing market. This appointment complements our growing housing practice, working with landowners, master developers and housebuilders on major schemes to deliver the homes that are so badly needed across England.”
Raith Pickup, head of projects at Mills & Reeve, said: “This appointment adds further credibility to our growing practice. Many of our clients, such as Urban&Civic and Defence Infrastructure Organisation, are already working on major projects that are backed by Homes England funding.”
Mills & Reeve has one of the largest real estate capabilities in the UK with over 120 lawyers working in this area. It has also been appointed to Tier 1 of the government’s Crown Commercial Services legal advice panel that bodies such as the Bank of England, the Environment Agency and NHS England use for all legal work.
