We're growing in Leeds with an office move

Our Leeds office is investing in new office space after a year of unprecedented growth.

The office is taking 10,200 sq ft at 1 City Square at the beginning of October 2024, almost doubling the size of its existing footprint after headcount increased by more than 25% in the last 12 months.

The office has seen exceptional growth since it opened in 2008 with the launch of several new practice areas. This move reaffirms Mills & Reeve’s commitment to the Yorkshire market as it looks to recruit high calibre lawyers to boost its unique range of sector specialisms.

The last 12 months has also seen its client base expand significantly, with new wins from Yorkshire companies and beyond.

Paul Johnson, head of the Leeds office at Mills & Reeve, said: “The state-of-art office will create a perfect environment for existing staff, clients and planned new recruits as the office continues its expansion strategy.

“At a time when international firms are increasingly targeting global clients, we believe there are significant opportunities to increase our footprint in the region. Our unique sector focus across technology, healthcare, education, and food and agribusiness has seen our client base grow rapidly, and we’re looking for skilled lawyers to further expand our offering. We’re also looking to launch new practice areas, with the recruitment of partners and announcements due soon.”

The move will see the Leeds team move to the second floor of 1 City Square from its current location on the fourth floor.

Paul added: “We looked at several locations across the city, including Wellington Place, but we believe 1 City Square remains the best location. It’s an iconic building near to the train station, which is ideal for our clients. It’s an exciting time for the office. Following lateral hires, our sector expertise is allowing for greater collaboration with colleagues across the firm’s seven offices, and we’re looking forward to expanding our team to offer an unbeatable service to clients.”
