We promote environmental sustainability in all aspects of our operations and recognise our responsibility for guardianship of the environment.
We're making the following commitments to achieve ambitious emissions reduction targets to restrict warming to less than 1.5°C.
In November 2024 we submitted our emissions reduction targets for validation to the Science Based Targets Initiative (SBTi).
Our near-term reductions include:
- 55% reduction in scopes 1 and 2 by 2033 compared to 2023 baseline
- 33% reduction in scope 3 by 2033 compared to 2023 baseline
Our long-term reduction target is to achieve net zero by 2050, if not sooner.
We’ve also committed to re-modelling our targets within the next 5 years, including:
- Publishing our full greenhouse gas emissions data annually
- Purchasing certified carbon offsets equivalent to our remaining emissions once we’ve reached net zero
- Completing our annual carbon footprint calculation in accordance with the requirements of the relevant net zero protocol
Our baseline emissions are based on calculations produced and validated by Net Zero Now, which covers the period of our financial year June - May.
Emissions referred to cover scopes 1, 2 and 3 for both this baseline year and current reporting year are calculated following a market-based methodology.
